                    <description><![CDATA[A traditional fishing and cruising in exceptional comfort and safety.
The deep cockpit, walkaround-type deck, a fine choice of materials and manufacturing quality, excellent passage through choppy waters, high stability, all contribute to navigation in complete safety on the RHEA 28' Wheelhouse.

Comfort, cruising
The hull, designed by marine architects Joubert-Nivelt, guarantees good seaworthiness, excellent handling in choppy seas, excellent courseholding, and terrific stability. Maximum speed is 23 knots. Comfort and safety too from the protected rudder and propeller, safety glass windows, hydraulic helm, 300-litre fuel tank capacity, and the optional propeller access well that allows clearing a rope or net in complete safety. 

Life aboard
The forward cabin has a V-shaped double berth, a hanging locker, and various places for stowage. The head has a sea toilet with holding tank. The wheelhouse has been fitted out in a very modular way. The helmsman's seat can be adjusted fore-and-aft. The dinette, seating 5 people easily, converts into a bench seat for the co-helmsman. Lockers under the bench seat and a drawer offer plenty of stowage. 
The galley is equipped with a two-burner stove, and a sink with pumped water from a 100-litre fresh-water tank. Cupboards, drawers, and shelves make living aboard practical when cruising. The very effective ventilation is via 2 sliding doors, one opening light on the port side, and a deck hatch. An optional sliding roof hatch will bring light and extra ventilation to the saloon.

Fishing
Everything has been designed for enjoyment and efficiency : a very deep cockpit, &#8216;walkaround' deck layout, emergency tiller, optional dual controls. The driving position has a sliding door to starboard, making for easy deck access. All types of fishing are possible in complete safety.

Quality & safety
In the cockpit, the large engine casing gives access to storage lockers as well as the engine itself &#8211; all completely perfectly accessible. A second stern locker has room to stow all the equipment you'll need. The cockpit's three folding benches provide comfortable seating for 6 or 8 people. The deep cockpit, the handrails around the deck-house, the choice of materials used for the generously-proportioned components, and the sturdy, meticulously-finished, high-quality construction all make for safe cruising.]]></description>

                    <description><![CDATA[LOCKPORT, La., Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., a Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. company, has delivered the M 6000, a 55,000 barrel (BBL) Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA'90) compliant tank barge, to Midstream Fuel Service, L.L.C., a wholly owned subsidiary of Martin Resource Management Corporation.  Contract terms and conditions were not disclosed. 
The announcement was made by Bollinger executive vice president of new construction, Chris Bollinger.  &#8220;Bollinger is pleased to announce the delivery of the M 6000, OPA'90 tank barge to Midstream.  Once again, I am very proud of our workforce who has delivered another high quality vessel on time and on budget,&#8221; said Bollinger. 
The 55,000 BBL tank barge, M 6000, was built at Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., in Amelia, Louisiana and is a Bollinger design.  The M 6000 is a clean oil barge that is classed and certified ABS + A1 Oil Tank Barge, Manned Ocean Services. The barge measures 350-feet long, with a 70-foot beam and a depth of 25-feet.  The barge is built to meet the requirements of OPA'90, with ten (10) cargo compartments and two (2) separate pumping systems.  The barge is outfitted with the Bludworth Cook Marine ATB Flexible Connection System.
Ruben Martin, President of Martin Resource Management Corporation said, &#8220;The Bollinger family's heritage of quality engineering and construction are on display in the barge M 6000 and tug La Force. The barge was constructed in Bollinger's Amelia yard and the tug, La Force, was converted with a new Bludworth/Cook system and raised pilot house in Bollinger's Texas City yard. When these two units came together at the completion of the project it was like the fit of custom made boots.  Bravo, Bollinger!&#8221;
On departure from the Bollinger Marine Fabricators facility, the M 6000 entered the marine transportation services for petroleum products in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.]]></description>

                    <description><![CDATA[More and more customers all over the world entrust Transas to furnish ports with state-of-the-art equipment, making it possible to deal with the growing complexity of port operations.

Transas is currently working on two VTS projects in Morocco, in ports of Agadir and Nador. After thorough consideration Agence National des Ports (ANP) entrusted Transas, in partnership with SOREMAR Group, to bring these projects in life.

VTS systems supplied by Transas will enable operators to monitor all vessels' activities in the area by immediate and exact representation of situation on the consoles. Having the most accurate information at the tip of their fingers, operators are able to react quickly and handle all port activities in a most efficient way. The scope of supply in each port includes a high performance Radar, 2 CCTV System, a Communications System with 3 VHF and 1 HF stations, AIS Base station, Direction Finder and Weather Station.

The Port of Agadir lies on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and is the main gateway and point of export for goods from South Morocco.  As Morocco's fourth busiest commercial port, it is a bustling affair and thrives from the rich fisheries off the Moroccan Atlantic coast.  The Port of Nador lies on the northeastern shores of Morocco facing the Mediterranean Sea and is a ferry gateway to Europe.

Together with Soremar Group, Transas has already supplied and commissioned three VTS installations in Morocco in the ports of Mohammedia, Tanger and Jorf Lasfar. 

Several months ago Transas completed an installation of VTS system in Khalifa Bin Salman Port, Bahrein. The project was initiated by Aeradio Technical Services W.L.L. for APM Terminals &#8211; provider of port and terminal management and operational expertise, which serves over 60 container shipping line customers.

Technically the solution is based on 2 radars, AIS Base station, Weather Station, 3 VHF Stations and DSC messages server.

All equipment is integrated into one multifunctional solution, which fulfills following tasks:


Provides navigation in Port's responsibility zone 
Gathers statistical data about vessels 
Prepares reports for Port's financial services as a base for charging them for Port operations (mooring, towing etc.) 
Plans vessel's entering 
Monitors situation in the Port (a number of vessels in the Port, their status and location) 

All VTS systems mentioned above are based upon Transas Navi-Harbour solution &#8211; the system which has already established a good reputation by reliably serving the busiest ports in every corner of the world for years.

THE SYSTEM
2 Ulstein thrusters type 150 TV (bow). Oil type: Mobil SHC 629 (150 cSt), approximately 800 litres per thruster system.

THE PROBLEM

The oil was contaminated with water, particles and resin deposits leading to frequent oil changes and subsequent dry docking.

THE SOLUTION

CJC&#8482; Filter Separator Unit PTU2 27/27 PM-DH1 PW with 2 off 1.65 kW preheaters and automatic water discharging, using CJC&#8482; Filter Insert BLAT 27/27 (3 Â¼m absolute). Water separation by means of a CJC&#8482;  coalescing element.

THE TEST

The filter separator unit was installed between the two bow thrusters and had a valve system installed enabling the unit to operate on one thruster unit at a time. The oil samples were taken through a sampling point before the CJC&#8482; Filter - one prior to start up and one after a short period of filtration / separation.

THE RESULT

What is remarkable in this case is the speed with which the CJC&#8482; unit was able to reduce the water content in the oil. In less than 48 hours the condition of the oil was brought from &#8220;not usable&#8221; to &#8220;usable&#8221; and a considerable amount of solid particles were removed.]]></description>

                    <description><![CDATA[Activate Your Laser Fleet workshops two and three took place at Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th February. Saturday welcomed representatives from Clubs in the East of England; a long haul for many, while Sunday greeted Southern region representatives.

The mornings were spent ashore developing ideas of reinvigorate activity in the number of under used Laser fleets in these two regions. Some of the more creative ideas included a Friday afternoon &#8220;skivers club&#8221; for those who managed to leave work early or have free time on Friday's and want to get afloat and a &#8220;Pimp my Laser day!&#8221;

A fantastic outcome of the last weekends workshops was the pooling of resources and combining of ideas between local clubs. Many of the clubs have also considered the social elements of sailing and will be investigating fleet BBQ's for the summer months. Improved communication amongst Laser sailors at a club and local level has also been recognised as an area for attention. 

Fortunately the weather was suitable for the workshop delegates to get afloat during the afternoon. The fleet enjoyed demonstrations of training exercises that they will now be able to take back to their clubs and deliver to their members. Mike Hart, Coaching and Development Officer at the RYA also provided some short course racing and needless to say, the fleet's competitive spirit could not be contained for long and some close racing was enjoyed by all.

The International Laser UK Class Association's Jon Hammond attended Sunday's workshop at Weymouth. His enthusiasm for the success of the day was tremendous. &#8220;We had a really really good day! Everyone who attended had put in a huge amount of effort preparing prior to the day and there was a great atmosphere and so much positive feedback. I was really pleased to see the chatter on Facebook on Sunday night after the workshop!&#8221;

Thanks to the particular design of the hull, which previews an extension of the keel at stern, carrying benefits also in deck habitability, the keel surface is increased, and so is the boat
stability. This translates into a behavior at sea, normally given by boats of greater dimensions. The hull, beyond of being equipped with a deeper V particularly suitable to face conditions of rough sea, turns out to be extended longitudinally up to the tubes rear cone's. This allows also a more efficient positioning of the outboard engine. Such solution, moreover, has granted the creation of a truly stern bridge so amplifiyng the fruibile space on board. Distinguishing all the King models, is an enormous stern
locker over which it has been realized a sofa so wide it can be easily transformed in a confortable sundeck. Simply pulling down the back more leasure space is added to the one normally present at bow.

                    <description><![CDATA[Terminal Port-Nou fue el escenario de un simulacro de emergencia que sirviÃ³ para evaluar la eficacia de la Cesta de personal modelo BA-185 de la empresa Tec Container, S.A. 


El simulacro se realizÃ³ en el Puerto de Barcelona en colaboraciÃ³n con los servicios de emergencias de Estibarna-Fremap, la PolicÃ­a Portuaria, Estibarna y Prevestiba y sirviÃ³ para comprobar la operatividad de la nueva Cesta de personal y la coordinaciÃ³n de los equipos de emergencia.

El ejercicio desarrollado consistiÃ³ en la simulaciÃ³n de un rescate de un estibador portuario accidentado a bordo de un buque y se realizÃ³ en el marco de las actividades que habÃ­a programado Prevestiba, servicio mancomunado de prevenciÃ³n del sector de la estiba en el Puerto de Barcelona, conjuntamente con las empresas estibadoras, Estibarna y los delegados de prevenciÃ³n.

La cesta de seguridad empleada en este caso estÃ¡ concebida para su uso en situaciones de emergencia, acceso de personal sanitario y evacuaciÃ³n de personal herido a bordo de buques. Sin embargo este es sÃ³lo uno de los muchos usos para los cuales esta cesta fue concebida y es comercializada por Tec Cointainer.  Originalmente diseÃ±ada para labores de estiba y desestiba de buques, su elevada polivalencia ha llevado a ampliar la gama a usos como la reparaciÃ³n de buques en zonas de difÃ­cil acceso y finalmente como plataforma de evacuaciÃ³n de personal en caso de accidente.

Stockdorf/Munich &#8211; 16 December 2009 &#8211; At the &#8216;boot' trade fair, which will be held in DÃ¼sseldorf, Germany in 2010, Webasto will be presenting its new Marine water stations to a German audience for the first time. The new product will be on show at the joint exhibition booth of Bukh-Bremen (Hall 10, G 59.4). As well as the new Marine water stations, from 23 until 31 January 2010 Webasto will also be introducing an interested specialist audience to its entire product range of air heaters and air conditioners, down to integrated system solutions for heating and air conditioning.

Water stations to fulfill every requirement
The new diesel-powered stations from Webasto heat the boat's interior and the tap water on board and are available in four different versions with five power settings. The integrated hot water reservoir ensures that warm water is available within a short amount of time. The four versions of water station (central heating, central heating with warm water boiler, central heating with integrated plate heat exchanger and central heating for air conditioning integration) are available in capacities from 11.6 to 35 kW (11.6 kW, 16 kW, 23 kW, 30 kW, 35 kW). This range of models ensures that different boat sizes and models can be ideally supplied with warm water and heated air. The water stations operate quietly, can be operated independently from the ship's generator with a 12 V or 24 V battery and are particularly compact in all power settings and versions. With a standard size of 800x520x270 millimeters they require very little installation space on board.

Webasto will also be exhibiting its reliable heating systems at the &#8216;boot' fair in DÃ¼sseldorf. Amongst other series, the compact and lightweight Air Top Evo series will be shown. With their continuously variable heat regulation, these efficient air heating systems consume a lot less of the valuable electric energy on board.                     <description><![CDATA[The FINTRY CarboCAT Fast Ferry 38m Catamaran is based on the experiences with an aluminium Catamaran successfully in operation for more than 10 years and the successfully tested and modern carbon composite technology construction.

The FINTRY CarboCAT Fast Ferry 38m Catamaran combines positive findings from the existing Catamaran, the further development of the boat range during tank test at MARINTEC in Norway and the implementation of the meanwhile together with the modern vinylester in connection with carbon-sandwich-construction. This makes it possible to meet today`s increased requirements for passenger traffic and the safety standards for Fast Ferries.

DEPARTURE es un material polimÃ©rico versÃ¡til y ecolÃ³gico que se adhiere quÃ­micamente a la superficie del molde y que, cuando se ha aplicado correctamente, se transfiere a las piezas moldeadas en menor medida que los desmoldeantes convencionales en base disolvente.

                    <description><![CDATA[With many boat customers now having had several boats with thrusters, many choose to upgrade to more powerful versions to be sure that the thrusters work well for them in all situations. However, very powerful  single speed thrusters can, in light weather conditions, be a bit difficult to use as they push the boat too fast. The solution is to fit the new Sidepower DC Power Controller which enables proportional speed control of a DC  electric thruster. By also controlling the thruster's power, you get even more precise handling of the boat in all conditions.

Another great advantage is that when you run the thruster at less than full power, the usable run time is extended, with close to continuous usage being possible when you are running the thruster at less than 50% of full power  (percentage of thrust with continuous duty depending on thruster model).]]></description>

                    <description><![CDATA[In dock No. V of Szczecin Ship Repair Yard GRYFIA SA there is catamaran H/F Villum Clausen owned by Danish company, Bornholms Traffiken A.S. This is one of the fastest passenger-car ferries in the world. 

The ferry travels between Ystad and Ronne and covers this distance in 1 hour and 15 minutes, reaching speed of 89 km/h. It is made totally of Aluminum and takes over 1000 passengers and 215 passenger cars on board. 

The Danish carrier owns four ships of this type.]]></description>
